Professional Interest/Expertise/Specializations:
Expertise: Research Design & Methods: Teach and assist trainees and faculty with all aspects of research. Director of the Research Navigator Service. Grant Writing: Have served as PI on 2 grants and assisted faculty across OUHSC on grant writing. Course Director for Summer Scholars didactic grant writing course. Qualitative Research: Provide seminars and have done consulting work in Qualitative Research. Have been PI, Co-I or data analyst for several qualitative research projects. Quantitative Statistical Analysis: More than 20 years using SAS and SPSS and have served as primary data analyst on research projects and MS thesis committees. Interests: Impact of culture and personal beliefs on health-related behaviors, including complementary and altrnative medicine use, alcohol use and newborn screening. Have also researched, provided seminars, and published on Native American issues, alcoholism and schizophrenia.
