Professional Interest/Expertise/Specializations:
Dr. Jonathan Heinlen, M.D., is an assistant professor of urology who joined the OU Urology faculty in February 2014. Prior to joining OU, he was in private practice with the distinguished Urology Associates of Oklahoma City. Dr. Heinlen earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, Management Information Systems, and his medical doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his surgery and urology residency training at OU. He then completed his fellowship in urologic oncology and advanced robotic urology at prestigious City of Hope National Medical Center. In 2007, Dr. Heinlen served as president of his class in the OU College of Medicine before going on to complete his residency with the OU Department of Urology in 2012. In 2013, he completed his fellowship in urologic oncology and advanced robotic surgery at the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. He will continue to provide patient care at the Urologic Oncology Clinic at the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center. In addition to developing and enhancing OU¿s clinical program in minimally invasive and robotic urologic oncology, Dr. Heinlen will also support the department¿s efforts in minimally invasive and robotic intervention in benign urology. He will also be responsible for formalizing and leading the department¿s graduate medical education and continuing medical education programs in minimally invasive urology.
