Dr. Drevets received his MD degree from the University of Kansas and completed his residency in psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine. He subsequently served on the faculties of the Departments of Psychiatry and Radiology at Washington University and the University of Pittsburg. In 2001 he joined the NIMH as a Chief of the Section on Neuroimaging in Mood and Anxiety Disorders and from 2008 also became a Chief of the NIMH Laboratory on Molecular Pathophysiology. Recently he accepted the positions at OUHSC and LIBR to form a multidisciplinary team that will conduct studies of major psychiatric disorders. Dr. Drevets¿ major research interests have involved the application of PET and MRI technologies in studies aimed at elucidating the pathophysiology of mood disorders.
