Professional Interest/Expertise/Specializations:
Our laboratory is interested in understanding how dysregulation of gene transcription leads to cancer. In particular, we focus on ETS transcription factors and JMJD histone demethylases. To this end, we study those proteins with biochemical and cell biological methods and also analyze respective transgenic and knock-out mouse models. Currently, our research is mostly focused on prostate cancer, but we also have interests in other tumors such as those of the breast and colon. Finally, we attempt to develop small molecule inhibitors for JMJD histone demethylases.
